Challenge

The challenge for Phil’s BBQ was to create a Sports Stadium feel inside their restaurant/bar. rp Visual Solutions (RPV) was contacted by the AV Integrator, Fluid Sound, to provide a solution for a 4 sided “Jumbotron” with an LED ticker.

“Phil’s BBQ was looking for a way to take their brand further and capture more of the excitement of sports. Their EVP, Kevin Sheehan, came up with the idea of the Jumbotron; so that guests would feel like they were sit-ting courtside while enjoying their BBQ,” said Dennis Pappenfus, CEO of Fluid Sound.

Solution

RPV custom designed, engineered, and fabricated a 4 sided ceiling mounted structure to replicate a sports venue Jumbotron. The steel structure creates the sturdiness required to hold the tilted NEC 65” flat panels. RPV also engineered a section of the mount to include an LED ticker around the top of the Jumbotron. In addition to the custom ticker, RPV provided custom cladding to give the Jumbotron a complete sports venue aesthetic.

For serviceability, the bottom cladding can be removed to provide access to the flat panels. This allows the panels to stay in place instead of being removed to adjust or repair wires, cables, and connections. The LED ticker can also be accessed from the top of the structure.
